Mitchers is my wife’s favorite Bourbon. I figured I’d better include it. I’ll be interested to see how it does in the ‘blind tasting’. Michters has a few interesting bottles, they do an ‘American Whiskey’, which is really their regular Bourbon, but finished differently, so they can’t call it Bourbon. They also have ‘Toasted Barrel’ , and ‘Sour Mash’. I like their ‘American Whisky’, my wife likes their ‘Sour Mash’. There’s also a ’10 year’ old version, and a ’20 year’ old version. The 10 year sells for about $250, and the 20 year, sells for $700 USD (and much more on the secondary market).
Price wise Michters in Canada seems to be at a premium often $85, yet a lot of the other Bourbons seem to be the same price in Canada vs US (ie $1 is a $1), so same price regardless of exchange rate.
My comment from the tasting night was it smells great, caramel, and sweet, but it doesn’t taste like it smells.
