Maker’s 46 is the step up from Maker’s Mark.  It’s considered a ‘wheated’ Bourbon.  Maker’s 46 starts off as standard Maker’s Mark, then heavily seared French oak staves are placed in the just emptied barrels, which are then refilled, and returned to the warehouse, to finish aging for an undisclosed amount of time (estimated to be 2-3 more months).
