Moonshine (1st one, Tastings #10)

Moonshine Tasting (November 13th, 2020)

This was our first Moonshine Tasting.  Moonshine to me is homemade alcohol, normally of very high proof.  It seems, these days, to be flavooured liqueur, with a low % alcohol, often 25%, and as some have said, with that low % of alcohol, why bother?!!  We’ll definitely have to drink lots of water after this one, due to the high sugar content.

This one was a fun tasting, can’t be too serious with moonshine.  IMHO only the Bonus one was real moonshine, and it did rather poorly in our ranking, it wasn’t done blind given the % alcohol.

I think our group has a sweet tooth, since it’s often the sweetest one that wins the tasting.  This one ws no exception, the winner was the butter tart one from Reunion Moonshine, from Top Shelf Distillers.
