Tequila (2nd one, Tastings #6)

Tequila Tasting (July 17th, 2020)

This is our 2nd Tequila Tasting, the first one was a general survey of Tequila, including Blanco, Resposado, Anejo, and Extra Anejo. This one was a bit narrower, based on what was popular, and well liked. So this tasting was all Anejo or Extra Anejo. The bottles in question were;

TT Label Description Category Rating Price (CAD$)
C Casamigos Anejo 7.4 $83
D Jose Cuervo Reserva de la Familia Extra Anejo 6.5 $180
A Serpentine Extra Anejo 6.1 $67
G Cenote Anejo 7.9 $92
B Gran Centenario Anejo 6.9 $50
E Tapatio Anejo 7.7 $75
F Casa Noble Anejo 7.0 $100

* In order to keep the price down, I only charged for the shots on this one, and we didn’t draw for that bottle

The Survey Results

We had 12 participants for this tasting, it was in the summer, tequila is always good in the summer! This tasting was blind, which I highly recommend, the results were quite different from our first tequila tasting, where people could see the bottle.

* Leslie had to leave early from the tasting, so her last one (G) was done 2 days later, not a good sample, IMHO

I found it interesting, Cenote Anejo won, Casa Noble should have come in 2nd, in my opinion, but the opinions were very divided, you either lobed it or hated it, which was strange to me. Tapito Anejo (meaning a man from Guadalajara, for those wondering where the name comes from) came in 2nd.

So the winner 95 out of a possible 120 (95/120 = 79%)
