Canadian Whisky (1st one, Tastings #9)

Canadian Whiskey Tasting (October 23rd, 2020)

This was our first tasting of Canadian whisky, usually made with Rye, unlike Bourbon (corn), and Scotch (barley).  We had a good mix, for many in the tasting it was their first tasting of any Canadian whisky.  We had some smaller distillers, and some old standards.

I found it interesting, Crown Royal won, a very main stream brand.  I usually don’t even include the main ones, especially when there is no age statement.  But I was told by one in the group it was good, and i checked Distiller.com, and it got good reviews.  They obviously know what they’re doing.  Gibson’s Finest 18 yr came in 2nd.

So the winner 123 out of a possible 150 (123/150 = 82%)
